I spend a lot of time with Riley, the newest member of Jeff’s family. She’s a rascal, never sitting still except for brief recharge naps. Lucky for me, she obeys me somewhat. Thursday I had a few moments to get a few photos of her before I left for class, I needed something to edit to fill my Photoshop addiction.
Since The Pioneer Woman has been posting a lot of textured photos lately, I was inspired to do the same on the photos of Riley. Here’s my first attempt doing textures on a photo using PS in a LONG time. I used to do it manually in a darkroom when I was in high school. I like how this turned out, but it isn’t my favorite… a little too orange.
Yesterday I started to edit this one in between classes, but at first I couldn’t think of a direction for it. I desaturated the background slightly. At work Friday afternoon I was inspired to start looking for a texture to go with it. I found a cement texture that added a nice aged look. I also ran the “Seventies” action from The Pioneer Woman, but I did turn down the transparency. This one is definitely my favorite
